Are you saying that his intake did slow him down?

i would like to see the entire run broken down so you could make an educated guess. based on trap speed alone, i would say he is making less power, just did a better job driving it.

Best time before install:

12.88 @ 105

Best time as of today:

12.58 @ 102

My "butt dyno" couldnt have been more wrong!

I felt like I got my best launch I ever did today which I know helped contribute to my time.

But I'm curious of why im 3/10 ths of a second faster but 3 mph slower.

Any ideas?

My #'s:

1000ft - 10.45
60ft - 1.65
330ft - 5.05
1/8 - 7.95 @ 85.8

Thanks chris @ hirevimports.com, you couldnt have been more helpful.
Best vendor I've dealt with in a long time.
12.5 @ 102 sounds very odd, either something went wrong at the top end or the timers were off. The weird thing is the 1/8 mile time looks right on for a 12.5 but it should be more like 108-109mph. Here's my 12.64 @ 108 timeslip as a comparison.

Well, I figured it out guys:

I started lifting off the gas right before I hit the 1/4 mile mark!!

I just did a couple more runs today and have gotten the results I wanted.

They were all similar 1/4 times but with a better top speed.

Best run was:

12.45 @ 109.4
1000ft - 10.37
1/8 - 7.92 @ 87.0
330ft - 5.05
60ft - 1.62

Thats more like it!!

I now have a new 0 - 60 and 0 - 100!

0-60 in 4.00 seconds flat

0-100 in 10.3 seconds

planning on buying headers now and getting another tune on november 11th at rallispec....cant wait!

man do I love this car.......

Is it just me because I'm old or is the K&N a little loud. My son just installed mine last night and I love the sound and it does not seem any performance was lost. But I guess when you get over 40, those great sounds from the engine compartment just don't mean the same anymore. Hopefully, I will be over it in a couple of days because I really like the intake and fit and finish are very good.

It is definately loud and I wasnt expecting all the new noises either, I expected to hear the bypass valve a little more than before, but I didnt expect to hear the turbo spooling up! I thought there was something wrong at first because I just wasnt used to hearing what I hear all the time now. You will get used to it.

Thanks and at least I know I'm not crazy. Based on your run would you say we definitely gained power? I really can't tell, lots of mixed emotions getting over the noise.

Man, I've been out of this thread for a little while (haven't received any email notifications). I have had a few customers who weren't sure if they gained any hp from this intake. Many of them went and either did time tests or dyno tests. All have shown an improvement, but some more than others.

For those of you with EM. I would suggest getting your EM retuned to squeeze every last bit of power out of this intake. However, I know tuning is $$. Therefore, it would be a good thing to have done after other parts are added that require tuning. I have also added this intake to my site due to great demand. If anyone has any questions about this intake, feel free to email me at chris@hirevimports.com

Thanks
Chris

I know how you feel, but for the mods that i had already done (Downpipe, Catback) plus being ecutek retuned, installing the intake ALONE knocked off .43 seconds from my quarter mile time. It will be intersting to see how much more can be squeezed out of this intake like chris has mentioned.

I will find out soon enough on Veterans day!! (Nov. 11)
