| Amateur STI Driver | well i just got my car back today from getting a new clutch and was just driving it around to break it in. I noticed that my cruise control light was blinking and my check engine light suddenly came on. I found the code and looked around differnt forums and found that leaking hoses or the intake could cause the problem. I looked under the hood and found that the cone on my iK&N cold air intake was not tight at all...so i tightend the clamp down and drove around for about 15 minutes and the code has yet to go away...should I clear the code with my AP or will it just go away over time? thanks This ad is not endorsed by this member. IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2006 Trader Rating: (4) | Usually an intake leak of some sort will throw that code(could be intake or intake manifiold or pinched vacuum line). Find the problem and fix it ASAP. Loosen all hose clamps and reposition properly on intake and also look at all vacuum lines. Lean is bad. |

IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2006 Trader Rating: (4) | It depends on the scenario. If lean at idle, prolonged/repeated idle will throw the code. If lean at throttle input, it depends on the input and how/when the ECU checks those paramaters. Mine was lean at idle and fine at WOT. It was preturbo. Made turbo overboost to achieve preset boost. So my gauge would show 20psi but in actuality, my turbo was boosting 24psi. See what I mean? TOO many variables to guess. But a LEAN CODE MEANS BAD THINGS. |

| Amateur STI Driver | yea makes sense..so maybe i should let it idle for about 10 minutes to see if it throws it again...i would think that something this serious would make the computer keep sending these codes even after just being erased...i just hope nothing bad happens |

| Amateur STI Driver | i really appreciate you helping me out with this...I mean i would pay an arm and a leg for the dealership to look under the hood and say o yea it was a loose clamp...tomorrow i will let it run for a little while and if nothing happens then idk i will just have to go get a wide band gauge This ad is not endorsed by this member.
