Default My dream girl drives a black STI...

The 850cc injectors are IN!!!!! Took about an hour to do and was pretty easy! Just a lot o clutter, but you can move a lot of it out of the way (coolant tank... washer fluid tank... battery. Once in ... i let the fuel system prime a couple times (just turned on ignition and you could hear the fuel pump pressurize or whatever it does), then opened up utec... changed the first variable (flow rate to 800cc), left the stock injectors size (the variable under it) at what it was... 550cc or whatever. Idles perfect, Runs perfect, AFRs are GREAT. Im sure they'll fine tune it later, but its great right now. I will try my hardest not to boost at all. So for the money, these are AWSOME. One thing to note is that instead of going lean on shifts it goes richer now... which is definitely a good thing... this could have been if there was a leak in the 90 degree hose i replaced, however i dont think that was it. I'll report fuel economy as its a 3.5 hour drive over there. We're staying at the kennesaw mariott or something like that (me and dad - he wanted to go to a ball game after the dyno). Then will be at the place friday morning. I cant wait!

? Im not sure I understand. The 90 degree elbow replaces the intercooler hose is over 5" too long, allowing me to trim accordingly. This was mainly for the VF34 turbos as their compressor outlet was angled a different way than stock and made it very hard to fit the stock piece. I bought it as I had taken the IC off so many times that the factory hose was getting nicks and cuts on the edges and was only a matter of time before it started leaking or the clamp slipped off.

If you're referring to the Perrin/Samco hoses, they do not fit the 2004+ STI (as I found out the hard way ). We have a different Y pipe (partial solid Y) and the 05s have an even more different Y pipe (sold piece) lol as scott found out . This was about the only solution to replacing that red Elbow. Sorry if I did not answer the question.

??? I'd like to see how considering we have a partial cast Y pipe (meaning it doesnt come off, unless you pull the entire Y pipe off - giving you nothing to hook the silicone hoses to). So unless they have an entirely new assembly or hook up point, there is no way it could fit, as the Y pipe is partial cast on the 04s and fully cast on the 05s.

I know for a fact the perrin will not fit as i bought and tried those. The samcos look identical and i would say would not fit. I dont see how the GPmoto fits unless it has a new piece that replaces the factory Y pipe for the hoses to hook onto. Any info/pics? Thanks man!

I addressed the heat shield problem by modifying the stock one and adding another one to it, I made out of thin aluminum plate you can buy at any hardware store. My heat shield goes all the way back to the firewall. I have pics but need someone to tell me how to get them to them if they would like to host? I plan on making one out of steel to replace the aluminum one eventually.

More pics of the Samco 90d hose and some pics on how to cut it.

http://www.bescaredracing.com/sti/in...r/hoses/ypipe/

The samco piece is significantly bigger than stock and you have to cut off a lot. The last pic in that series wasn't the end result. I had to cut off about another inch from the intercooler side of the hose. This hose DID make it slightly easier to install the intercooler. I also used this opportunity to convert over to T-Bolt clamps. Very nice. I also converted over to the STi throttle body hose that I got for Christmas. However, I would recommend that nobody ever buy this. Just buy a section of Samco hose. IMHO, the stock throttle body hose and the STi hose are just too short.
