IWSTI Addict since: Feb 2008 Trader Rating: (1) | I put a few coats of high temp primer and high temp paint on my downpipe. Is it OK to wrap it with the header wrap as well? Or is it a one or the other type of thing? Anyone have that vendor link to the template on cutting the stock heat shield? Thanks. This ad is not endorsed by this member. | Authorized Vendor | Just dont wrap the cat. As far as the hi-temp paint, I am not sure about both that and wrap, I know if you do a true thermal coating you are not supposed to wrap along with it because then you can hold in to much heat and cause welds to crack, etc... As far as cutting the heat shield, just eye ball it and go for it with a cut-off wheel, its not to complicated. Dont cut off to much, you can always cut off more if you need to later on.
