Default oil in intercooler?

Well I pulled of my intercooler an the pipes an core have about a cup of oil in them. Any ideas where this is coming from?

it's blow-by, and it's normal. a cup is an awful lot though, might want to check that out.

Put some catch cans on.

going forward, please search the forum before posting. chances are, the issue you are having has been covered many times.

it is normal to find oil in the intercooler and IC piping. the STI returns the head and crankcase vents into the intake system.

also, if you run higher than stock boost levels, you will see more oil than "normal."

oil catch cans or air/oil separators will reduce or eliminate this.
