Default Just installed an APS TSR70 and it shipped with a .94 A/R housing..

Just an FYI to those looking for a twin scroll kit...

I just purchased an APS TSR 70 with reversed intake piping from full race and during assembly of the kit, I noticed that the TSR 70 shipped with a .94 A/R exhaust housing... just wondering if anyone has also seen this. I thought that all TSR70s included an .82 A/R housing...

For reference, I've owned an Ultimate Racing GT35R with an .82 A/R, Godspeed GT35rR w/ 1.06AR and Perrin GT35r w/.82AR and the TSR seems to spool much faster tan any of the others, especially transient reponse without sacrificing top end; at least with the .94 housing at 23psi.

I'll post pics later of the the completed kit, but for now am pretty happy.

Set-up:

APS side feed rails
Aeromotive Regulator
Twin Supra Pumps
PE850 injectors
APS TSR70 w/ stock .4 AR housing
APS DR725 w/ full race reversed piping
Tial 50MM BOV
Hydra 2.6
Hydramist (not yet connected)
APS 3" turboback
APS TGV deletes
CUSCO Zero 2r
Alpine F#1 Status and Mcintosh Amps.
Advan RGII in 19x9 on the way

It should spool faster than all of those other kits because its twinscroll. Why the APS over the Full-Race twin scroll?

I have just put in a tsr 70, but it came with a .82 AR. Not sure what you have there, you may have to ping full race or APS to find out. Let us know if you do.

be glad, the old housing was too small and hurt high boost performance dramatically. Many have gained almost 100whp by going to a larger turbine housing. We choked out the .84 housing at 600bhp. Car stopped making power over 21psi. The wastegate would stay shut and all exhaust flow goes through the turbine housing. AT this point, the housing was too small and peak power/flow was reached. Adding boost only rasied pressure in the exhaust and intake. It also wouldn't boost over 26psi.

This was mostly due to the fact that we were running cosworth heads and cams.

There is some good comparison data from ProjectLimited pages 112-115. He had a .82 and a 1.06 dyno comparison on his car.

build.TLP - UPDATE: Car ETA unknown. 600WHP on 109 Race Gas, 504WHP on pump - *Post 1898*

Hi Siegfried --

Glad to hear you got the kit together and everything working -- Im sure that our short charge piping config combined with a twinscroll turbo feels much faster than your old setups!

Once you get more time on the setup I think you may find that the .94 is actually still a little small for your setup, particularly once you turn the boost up over 23 psi. This is the reason we recommend the 1.06 as a minimum size. Additionally, going to a dual wastegate setup on your APS up pipe can help spool the turbo even faster... food for thought. good luck, feel free to email me if you have any questions
