As far as I know the Cobb short ram with their airbox is the easiest intake to use since you can just use a Cobb AP map to compensate for the intake. I've heard many many good things about the APS 65mm cold air intake and APS turbo inlet but I'm still sketchy on wether or not a protune is required for either of those mods.

Either way you'll need engine management though.

If you are just throwing on an intake, SPT makes one specifically for the stock MAF scale.

Otherwise, with another intake you will want to adjust the MAF scale to compensate for the rise/fall of air flow.

sponge is not a good filter media. the ARC intake uses sponge filters. This has been proven in the past through actual formal testing. It will only filter large particles and let plenty of small particulate matter through.

For a DD, without a tune, keep the stock box and filter. Even a K&N panel filter has been shown to lean out the A:F.

aps, aem, k&n, prodrive, and p&l if you're not going to be tuning for the intake.
