That isn't boost creep. This is your car trying to figure out what the hell you did to it.

The computer (ECU) is programmed to support your restrictive exhaust. Now that you've freed it up, you are allowing more air to pass through the turbo creating more boost. This isn't good because now you are overboosting. This is where you got the wastegate CEL. Because you are overboosting their is more air is entering the motor without proper fuel enrichment. Again because your ECU is not programmed to support the better flowing motor. This is particularly bad on 07s. Due to EPA standards, the ECU has been programmed to run extremely lean at full boost. You are now running even leaner.

Bottom line: get an Accessport to reprogram your ECU to support your mods.

Personally, I wouldn't go WOT in your situation. I've read too many horror stories with 07s that were not tuned.

Yesterday. Know that's not the answer you're looking for but its true. I'm with La Mer you should definitely take it easy and stay out of high boost until you get an AP or equivalent.

Just out of curiosity what tbe did you get?

Month or two is pushing it. Why don't you just run an open source map? Its better to be safe than sorry. As mentioned previously, stay outta the boost untill EM.

Open source is a free map you can download from the internet directly to your STi using a special cable which I can't recall the name right now. This would be a good temporary solution, untill you can get a protune so you can see the true potential of the TBE. Its already been mentioned, but I'll say it again, your going to eventually need to get protuned anyways since your DP is catless. What ever you do, good luck. Just remember the 2007 STi is a totally different animal when modded comparred to previous models.

Go to tactrix.com if you want the cable to download an open source map.

Also check out openecu.org

I don't believe this method is truelly recommended though...

Also I don't know why I didn't mention it earlier, but if you are trying to save a few bucks I think there are probably no less than 4 used AP's for sale in the personal classified section. You get the EM you need and help another member out in the process

(Note: I don't have an AP for sale so this isn't selfish advertising)

Well I still never caught above whether or not your downpipe is catless or not. If you're dp has a cat then you could run off the off the shelf cobb map indefinitely in theory and never get it tuned.

If your dp is catless I would probably go ahead and get it protuned asap.

Man I wish I could just run out and get 600$ parts spur of the moment like that ^ ha.

Could always have your turbo outlet ported to reduce boost creep possibility

hey. i read on the cobb website. and it said that they highly recommend me having a high flow cat or i can get a replacement vacuum line and a larger restricter pill from cobb or the dealer.

so is it like a one or the other thing or do i need a high flow cat. cuz the vacuum line and restricter pill would be alot easier?
