Default Decisions On Intercooler

I have a 2008 STi with a Blouch Dominator 3.0R, Cobb Ap V2, P2L intake, Invidia catless Dp, walbro pump, and Deatch Werks 850cc injectors, Aquamist HFS-5 Meth Kit. My question I am getting protuned next week at P@L Which intercooler will make the most power and be the best to run, I am considering a Spearco TMIC or a Perrin SS FMIC. The FMIC is 500.00 more. with me running meth and 93 octane, are the advantages worth the xtra 500.00 over the TMIC while giving up alittle in spool-up?

The advantages of the FMIC are better air flow over the intercooler reducing heat soak and generally keeping the air temps lower, but this comes at increased lag since you will have to pressurize all of the additional piping after each shift. I'm not sure if they both drop the PSI the same, I think that is mostly dependent on core size. If you are running above stock boost levels (likely) I would go with the FMIC...this gives you more space in your engine bay and the ram air through the scoop will add (some) additional cooling.

I have a very similar set up, and went with an APS TMIC. Using meth will cool everything down more than enough. With a turbo blanket/heat shield/heat barrier film, running a TMIC with meth is a good deal. BUT FMIC are so damn sweet, lol. Good luck on the decision.

Because the OEM TMIC of MY08 is better than the OEM TMICs of former years, I would suggest the FMIC-way.
There is no big improvement possible with an aftermarket TMIC on the 08 me think
