Default VF39 to the max!!

I was wondering how much wheel power you can get out of the VF39. I was thinking of getting a bigger turbo but decided to stick to the stock and see wat happens. So if anyone can help me thanks!

Numbers are all over the place(depends on the dyno). With every bolt on(downpipe, headers, up-pipe, CAI, bigger TMIC, TGV deletes, Inlet pipe) you would probably see about 320 whp and 350-360 wtq depending on how aggressive your tuner is(and what kind of dyno it is on). If you throw meth into the mix you could add as much as 40 whp and tq, again depending on the tune and the meth mixture. For comparison, I am at 300 whp and 340 wtq with an APS CAI, Gruppe-S header, TurboXS TMIC, and Invidia DP.

what are you trying to do with the car? You should have posted in your first thread about what you already had done to the car. Do you want to get a pro-tune? Do you want to do more mods, but keep the stock turbo?

MAXED OUT VF39 minimum required mods:
uppipe, downpipe, intake, cat-back, fuel pump, larger tmic, bored injectors, external wastegate, ecu tuning/dyno flash, high octane, meth injection, cams

dynojet:
super unleaded octane - ~340whp ~400lbs trq.
race gas/meth - ~360+whp ~410lbs trq+

can anyone else recommend mods to max out a vf39?

Ah, didnt even think about the EWG. Cams though? The money there would be much better spent on a turbo and would make more power IMO. Larger injectors I think are only needed if you dont want to do meth injection since meth injection will give you 15-20 percent injector headroom on the stock injectors(tune dependant).

you can see from 290whp - 410whp

thats how much dyno numbers can be altered

that is why dyno numbers means nothing

throwing meth just wont give you 40whp and wtq. adding meth on pump gas is " kinda " like running race gas (low octane) adding meth on top of race gas you wont see much since after all the vf39 has its limits.

- larger tmic
- uppipe
are basicly not needed, the stock ones are just fine

- bigger injectors is basicly tuners preferance.

- cams is very expensive (labor and parts)

get rid of that FMIC, and HKS bov.

i would change the short ram to some kinda nice cold air intake set up to better combat the heat soaking issue.

as for injectors, i would go ask the tuner thats goin to tune your car of what he thinks same with the MBC

best advice i can give you,

before you start buying parts and mod away, go find a really good tuner that you can trust, tell the tuner what your goals are and asked whats going to take to get you there, afterall your car will be as good as your Tuner's skills

I have seen meth and being re-tuned for it added close to 40 wtq, now maybe that person was running out of injector and this added the necessary head room to be able to add more, but meth will and does add power, as well as safety.

The FMIC will not decrease hp...if anything, it will add a little more lag, but reduce heatsoak, which in turn could be justified by keeping power levels more consistent at the track or in stop and go traffic. No need to ditch it. Honestly, my lag is not even that bad with it. I have since my tune added a front mount, spark plugs, and a walbro in preparation for a turbo but decided to keep it stock.

2006 STI - 312whp/383wtq (Update: 5/24/2008)
...
I believe there is more to be had if I went with a 'good' Up-Pipe and Meth, but on E10 Premium (92Oct) unleaded... I'm pretty happy for the mods I have done.
