protuned stage 2 07sti vs. ots stage 2 04sti - HELP!

i am looking for an explanation here, very confused.........
07sti with a protune, running 3" invidia catless bellmouth turboback, fuel pump, aps cai, mbc is making 290whp & 300wtq.
the 04sti with an ots cobb stage 2 map, catted dp, full turboback, an af intake (forget what) is making 309whp & 320wtq.
curious to know what the diff. could be? same dyno, diff. days. within 2 weeks of one another. temp. was about the same. can't recall humidity though.
any ideas would be appreciated.

Some cars react well to the OTS maps. Other than that, some cars are just simply stronger than others.
Was this done on the same dyno, the same day? Maybe you have a "safer" tune? My point is, there are a lot of variables.

This is more common than people think. With my 04, the OTS map put down much better numbers over my protune. I do hoever think that the tune with the OTS wasn't as nice. With a protune, you're much safer and better over all. Who gives a crap about dyno numbers, it's all about real life power.

I'm sure with the protune your car is happier.

more aggressive tune on the 04 probably... if you're really worried about it (I wouldn't be) you can call your tuner.

any chance u think that might has something to do with the DCCD Front/Rear Split. U know the 04/05 is runnig 65/35, and the 06+ is running 59/41?

I bet its the MBC. Car for car, the 07 should put down more power. The Cobb OTS map your friend was running had learned timing and fuel trims as well. Your car is tuned to your car at one particular time and is capped at that HP and TQ level. You also have an MBC, so your tuner probably tuned even more conservatively than if you had not (people like to turn that knob for some reason).
