Yeah, but you have other, more expensive, problems anyway if you're burning that much oil.

FWIW, I run 15w-50 or 20w-50 synthetic (whatever is on sale by the jug) in the summer, built block. I really don't care who makes it since it's outta there in 3K anyway.

Are you using a 2618 or a 4180 piston? Just curious.

I run 10-40 year round. Straight 50 weight at the track.

I use Castrol 0w30 (German Castrol, says made in germany on the back). UOA shows that it holds up to nearly a 40w, so that works for my CA summers (and winters )

Redline 10w40 also gets good UOA for the 2.5L.

i agree. heck, my new built block hasnt used a measureable amount yet! less than 100 miles on before it was strapped to the dyno for some 7,500 rpm 23 psi runs! i pity the fools that break them in easy!
