Default Mysterious exhaust rattle found..few quick ?'s

So lately whenever I'm idling or whenever I turn the car off I get this horrible exhaust rattle. Saturday I had new wheels/tires installed so while the car was on the lift I figured I'd take a look to see whats causing this. All the bolts/nuts were tight as possible so I decided to give the cat a smack, and guess what.. It rattled. So basically I guess my cat is shot.. Its the aftermarket turboxs ceramic cat that came with the turboxs rfl-ti tbe. Now my choices are get a replacement turboxs cat (which I really dont want to do) or get the racepipe portion and just go catless. My only concern with catless is the noise factor.. On a side note, could any member on here confirm whether the 3" APS metal substrate cat would fit my 3" turboxs tbe? Thanks guys

If it is your cat, don't waste money replacing it. The added noise is almost unnoticeable

hm.. I had a feeling deep inside that I'd eventually be going catless
I'm just curious how it went so quickly It was only on the car for 10 months...

Did you use heat wrap over the cat? Some say that may make the cat fail prematurely...

Nope, the only thing that's treated for heat is the massive turboxs 4" downpipe, which I sent to Jet-Hot for a special coating. I do believe the cat is cermaic (or so I've heard) and I did run Mobil 1 Fully synethic with ESP for one oil change which is supposed to clean you cars emissions system so Im guessing that's what did it..

Catless ftw, cheaper and you dont have to worry about replacing it. Even in CA i say go catless because you're not going to pass either way.

Kind of weird to see a cat fail that quick without wrap or anything though.
