Default accuracy of V2 AP

So I just flashed the stg1 onto the STi(07) and did a few quick runs. I tested the boost, and dyno #s first. How accurate are the dyo #'s compared to a real dyno. They seemed a bit high from what I was expecting. What did you guys get for a stg1 run on the AP??

My #'s on the 93 map were:
297hp@53xx
292tq@51xx

I am installing my TBE tomorrow to compare.

After that it'll be a real dyno and Pro-tune.

Most likely. The usual trick is to estimate base on MAF airflow. That gives you a guess as to gross horsepower produced. Unless they factored in some kind of assumed power loss, it won't be a whp estimate.

From the other thread on the same topic.
Calculated HP and Torque in AP

(I didnt write down the exact numbers, but these are pretty close)
1st - 281whp
2nd - 271whp
3rd - 310whp
4th - 254whp

Im not sure what the formula is that Cobb uses, but it might be in the correct ballpark, but not super close to accurate. I have never been on a dyno, but I am running Maddad UEL headers, up pipe, Cobb TBE, APS CAI and flashed to Stage 2 93 oct. I would just guesstimate with those mods I am in the 250-270ish whp range. Of course I have no where to verify this, but I know for sure that I am not making 310whp.
Also just to add the AP states it is whp on the AP itself when it does the reading.

My car read 325 WHP with just Stg 2 93 OTS map. It reads way too high.

I know the Ap has to be off due to the gearing. It does allow you to pick a gear to run, but I don;t think it's very accurate. For example, depending on what gear you run, you always get a different estimate of power. I wish they quoted what % it is off.

All my runs were in 4th gear. Most tuners tune in 4th gear on a dyno because it is closest to the 1:1 ratio.

You can pick what gear you want to do it with the AP. I didnt try anything other than 4th.

Just make sure that you do any different dyno pulls on the exact same stretch of road (flat as possible) as dips and hills even small throw it off pretty good.

I got 365hp and then farther down the road I got 423 hp

I tried it again last night since I am tuned and got: (All runs were in 4th gear on the exact same on ramp)

317whp @ 4456
388ft/lbs @ 3651

I would guesstimate that is pretty close to accurate, then same stretch of road I did it again and got 314/379.

I'll test it out later toady since I installed the TBE last night. We'll see how different they are.

These pulls are on a flat strait also.

So results are in:

STG1:
297hp
292tq

STG2:
318hp
350tq

That's quite the difference! I'd love to test these against a dyno now.

haha dont get your hopes up to see those numbers on a real dyno. those must be close to flywheel numbers.
