Default Is going FMIC a good idea?

I plan on going upgraded with a gt30r soon. Is it ok if i get a fmic now, will I barely make any power? Also, is it ok for me to get a ebay fmic b/c I was looking at the turboxs fmic and its around 1,000. I can't afford that much so do you guys think that i can get a ebay fmic with all the intercooler piping and the size that will fit 07 STi's? Also when getting a fmic kit, it says to get a short ram intake which I have, is that necessary for all fmic?

It says in the description - Turbo XS - WRX, STi, EVO SRT4, Subaru, Mitsubishi, Turbo, Turbocharged

Yes, check out CSSPerformance if you are on a budget and still want Quality products. If you are going with a 30r I would advise a bigger TMIC or FMIC, With the FMIC you will get practically no heat soak :http://www.iwsti.com/forums/vendor-a...mance-com.html

If you want to mod for a larger turbo you would be better off just buying the parts as you get the money, and stock piling them until you have everything. Also, you probably need to make sure you can afford to do a turbo upgrade. Its a significant cost, and you also have to consider the possiblities of any mechanical failures down the road due to the upgrade. Can you afford to have your car down for months at a time if you need to have the motor rebuilt? Can you afford to have the motor rebuilt or replaced? Just some food for thought.

The FMIC kit comes with stainless steel or aluminum pipping. Which is better? Also what is a BPV that comes with the kit?

Go for fmic if your gonna drop that kinda turbo on.

Mod Rule #1 You get what you pay for
Mod Rule #2 Be prepared to pay if your gonna play (have money set aside for a motor just in case)

32k car, $200 fmic...not worth the risk :P
