Default Re: ESX TMIC fitment question

the brackets are way off so Im gonna have to say that it was intentional. My thinking is it was probably one of the very first ones ever made or one of those crazy wrx versions, but the guy said the intercooler is the same its just the mounting that is different. He just said to make sure the hoses are good and mount it however i can. The wrx and sti are basically interchangeable so I dont see why it woudlnt fit in my car if it can fit on a 06 wrx........ We shall see

It will fit cause you can move the brackets a bit to get the TMIC on then tighten up the brackets , you mayhave to use a longer couple hose but thats not a big deal.. You can make it work for sure..

Well you can loosen them up so you can maneuver the TMIC a bit the Turbo bracket you can move alot more then the manifold bracket of course, but if you loosen them it just might make it easier to line them up you know. And you don't have to use the rubber grommets if they dont line up you can use some washers. From the pics I think it will mount up it just might take a little patience

well saturday is the big day I'm gonna try it out and see if it fits. Anyone got any last minute input?

On a side note, I'm bored at work and decided to call turbonetics and see if they had any info for me. The sales guy was kinda pissed that I called and wasn't very helpful but he said that there are quite a few differences between the wrx version and the STI version of the spearco top mount intercoolers including the bracketry and the dimensions so i guess I'll have to hope for the best. He said basically to try it on and see if it fits.

One thing that confused me while i was doing some research yesterday that a STI tmic will obviously fit all 04-07 sti as well as 02-07 wrx, so how different can it be that would make it not fit? Oh well i guess i'll just have to wait till saturday to see for myself
