Default Cobb AirBox vs FMIC?

Anyone know if the new Cobb Airbox for the Short ram intake impedes the tubing for FMIC's or more specifically the APS 525 or Perrin SS FMIC?

I called Cobb and they didn't have an answer.

i would think it does by covering up the one of the holes where the FMIC pipes route through to the intercooler core...

Gotcha, thanks. Guess I gotta stick with just the short ram, or go CAI then.

Anyone know if there would be fitment issues with just the Cobb short ram? I was just told even without the box the intake might still have fitment issues with the APS fmic.

Your best bet is to go with the APS CAI. I believe any short ram is going to hit the FMIC piping.

I was afraid someone would say that. So far your the only one who has, but most of the shops I've called have just guessed that it won't be an issue.

Well to be honest, I am just trying to visualize it and I dont see how it would work, unless the filter sat down under the FMIC piping, but I dont think they would sit down far enough, plus with the filter right there. I just dont think it would all fit right or look right. The APS CAI would complete the look too. A short ram would look out of place. PM me if you want a price on an APS CAI.

If your spedning the money on a real good FMIC then get a good intake system. Its pointless to get a Short Ram Intake hinders power and gets tons of heat.. My buddy has the short ram intake and at idle on a hot day his intake temp is 125-130degrees not even running the car, same temp and I have ran my car my APS was 92 degrees. So your doing good by having a good FMIC to cool your charge but your intake is not doing the same.. Get a CAI and the APS is the best one. Just my .02
