Default Another Broken PrecisionTurbo

Well the day started good but ended in disapointment at Shannonville Motorsport Park. While at the track I had 2 good sessions first about 20 minutes with a 15 min cool down followed by a 28 min sessios. Car was running strong and cool I had absolutely no issues when I was running the car.
After having a little break I decided I was going to go out for a 3rd so I sparked the car up. I moved down the padock and someone stopped me and said my car was smoking badly. I took it to the lot and had another look and I was leaking oil all over the ground so I had though it was a head gasket but further inspection I found my catch can was completely full. I thought this was strange but didn't explain the smoke in the exhaust. Good thing was the car was still driveable. The next day at home I emptied the can and found it had about 1L of oil in it from my session and the excess was being blown out all over the engine bay.
Today I took it apart and to what I expected after driving it a bit more over the weekend was a seal blown in the turbo. This is the second Precision turbo to fail me(T3T04S UR Kit). I have about 5,000km on this one and the last one had about 10,000km. I am not impressed in the quality to say the least. I hope they cover this, if not I may be upgrading back to a water cooled turbo.
Mark

Go with a ball bearing turbo.

Just spoke with PrecisionTurbo they said the bearing were burnt. That was no surprise. They are going to cover the repair which is good, I got talking to the tech about cooling issue and what he could do to help out and he said typically a water cooled jacket is $200 and if I put it ball bearing it is around $800-$900.

I said due to the amount of issues I have been having he could change it to Ball bearing and water cooled for $475. So I made the drop and did it.

So the new setup will be BB and water cooled, basically a 35R.

Look out!
