Cool Remember the guy who was going to race that Porsche TT at Limerock? He's back.

With the race approaching, I believe it is time to give you all an update as to my inhuman efforts to prepare a car that will beat the 996tt at Limerock. You can check all of the hotly contested details about the race on a previous thread (its in Engine, Power, and Performance), i dont feel like answering all of the haters questions all over again.

Anyway, the car seems ready to me, and a whole of blood, sweat, and tears have gone into making it so.

Can my 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX STi take down the 2001 Porsche 996 twin turbo?

I definatly think it can. Lets just say I have access to a 996 turbo S. I have driven the car throughly, and under stand its capabilitys. I think "you're" current car will take the 996. Not easily but it will, especially on the straights. The proche might outbrake you though if you on stock pads and such. It will really come down to the driver IMO. You HAVE to get video of it also, for proof...

You need some real rubber for the track if you want to have a chance.
Hosiers FTW

You also need brake pads, something more track worthy than stock.

+2 For rubber and new Pads, you do not want these to be your weakest link.

Wow, your $2000 really went a lot further than I expected it would.

Seriously though, best of luck to you.

Here's the original thread, if anyone's curious.

suspension, suspension, suspension. Oh, throw a cage it the car and you'll notice a huge difference in how rigid the frame becomes.

I just want to thank a lot of people from this forum for really helping me out, specifically Siegal Racing, as well as quite a few people who gave me some good deals on parts.

Those Perellis are almost new, do you think theyll be alright if I save them for race day?
Also, the pads will definitely be replaced the day before.

As for the race itself im not sure ill take it on the straights, thats where the porsche lives, i was really hoping to pound it coming into the corners then gain a tad coming out.

In general though I do think that if my car can hold together it is faster than the porsche. I cant come across any statistic that says the porsche is superior. Im actually feeling rather confident.

I also cant think of a reason why the car would not hold together, its been very solid. Other than occasional clunky noises which I assume are from the psrs and the time it randomly shutoff off when decelerating (somethig which im told happens rarely yo GT35rs) Ive experienced no problems.

By the way im runing 22 psi.
