Just a suggestion but along with your tires and brake upgrades which would both be a great benefit to you, would a race gas/meth tune be out of the question? I read that you do not seem to have any type of internal engine upgrades (pistons, rods, etc) so it could be a slight risk in terms of making your engine go boom, however you would definitely yield better #s which lets be honest you could use. (<- I'm not saying that to hate but rather be realistic) Either way best of luck to you and give that porsche hell.

Sorry, but this guy has been on this forum a couple days since I posted the things in question, but still no response. I think he's pulling everyone's leg. I'm going to have to raise the flag, not on the car, or it's potential to win A REAL RACE. But on the whole paddock talk 2 car race vs instructor @ a DE with grid positionsand all and if he owns the car in the first place.

You are idiots, read all the posts from both threads then make a comment. There is a topic to this discussion, if you don't want to discuss that topic, don't try and make yourself seem better than everyone else by throwing the conversation away, and just keep your hating mouth shut. If you can't handle a simple linear conversation like this and want to talk about the immature things that can't be proved unless you happen to become a friend of mine, get out.

Anyway, STi1212 i don't think i need any more power, i should already be able to pull away on those straights right?

Truth be told, I don't know and I don't want to mislead you so I will leave that question to someone who has had ample experience in both cars rather than just in the sti. Figure it like this, any little bit you could do wouldn't hurt right? I mean isn't your opponent very well trained driver? Best to take advantage where ever and whenever possible. Speaking of driving skills get out there with you new beast and familiarize yourself, meaning put in as much seat time as you can spare without getting your ass canned from your job. Again, Good luck.

I've read both. They still dont explain how you can have a two person race, or why this event should be happening now and the track is closed. Or the various other questions.

Instead of insulting how about explaining?

Actually, one of those questions, "why this event should be happening now and the track is closed" was answered earlier.

But really, so what? Either there will be a race, or there won't be. If there is a race we'll all enjoy the pics/footage (or it didn't happen). If there isn't a race, then this just gets forgotten.

Meantime, it's all just words. I guess this is where the e-thuggin' starts.

Well there are various people that are very interested in this race, as I was until I looked at all the info. I'd love to see such an occurance. And the whole community seems to be rallying around the kid, which is great.

I simply posed some questions that seem out of place as would they seem to anyone here who has tracked a car regularly, been a corner worker or simply attended driving events. The community doesnt need to have several threads of some random guy pulling their leg.

If it's legit, he'll have legit answers for all my questions. But while PCA instructors are not perfect, I'd bet that there isnt one in the country who would have done this over some paddock talk. Especially a nationally certified instructor.

I also dont remember when the track being closed was answered, because I'm the one that posed the question. No events have been cancelled, this construction has BEEN planned. Combined with "I cant call him, he calls me", and "I get the inside grid for the race".

Who in the heck decides a grid position 3 months before the race? And if he can barely afford to mod his car, how is he going to make a wager to pay for making the Porsche a monstrous time attack car? And who the heck makes a deal like that anyways? Sounds like a spinoff from the movie Redline

I'm sorry but simple logic, common sense, and knowledge of track days, track sanctioning bodies, insurance etc. Will not allow me to beleive that this is even in the realm of reality.

How about we post it on rennlist and find the driver of the car, someone will know him, or does he not know the name of the guy either?

So, we've gone from the original maximum of $2K in mods to well over $10K. Sheesh, talk about bending the original intent of your bet, not to mention finding a lot of money you said you didn't have...what'd you do, win the lottery?

I'm not trying to bust your chops here, but I don't know of any sanctioned HPDE that'll allow you to run full bonzai, door-to-door. If you try this stunt, you'll both be flagged off the track well before you complete the 3 laps, and neither of you will run another HPDE there for a long, long time - with other cars (not to mention inexperienced drivers) out on the course, this'd be just asinine. OTOH, if this was for best clean lap time, with a 3-5 lap window to get it done, now we'd be making some sense...

I dont understand why this is so hard to believe, and frankly i dot really care if u do. The intent of the original posting was to get people who know more about modding than myself to help me with a setup. Luckily I came into more money and alot of help form friends and I was able to do everything possible. This thread was posted to ask you guys if it was enough, if my car was fast enough to take the Porsche. Thats it. Im not required to argue the validity, I will simply provide pictures and a video or something of the actual event and hope you all stuff your shoes in your mouth when this is all over. As for arguing the details prior the race, its pointless, all I can say is that this my car, Im racing a stock 2001 porsche tt using my car, and that the driver is serious.

Thank you to all of you who are actually helping, who have helped, and dont feel the need to come down on me.

As far as I'm concerned this thread is over, its been established that my car is faster than the porsche and that was my intent.

You will all hear from me if I get any more information that will help you help me win. If not, youll get all the information you want in the result thread which will be up after the fact.

Amigo, this went from a hilarious thread a couple of months ago to now one in which you have "established" nothing but a bad attitude. You're acting like a loser already - lighten up. It's only money, right, and you apparently have plenty of it. Relax.

Well, if that's been established, then it all comes down to the drivers.

Good luck!
