Default No Oil Pressure = Spun Bearing

Looking for opinions on this situation.
Most likely my pickup tube fractured or my oil pump failed but either way my car was oil starved for a little bit.
The car obviously spun a bearing as it a making a sick tapping sound, the dealer confirmed this today with a phonecall.
I figured they would replace my shortblock at the very least but i have been told that they will replace the bearing and check the tolerances of "everything else".
Is that in your opinions an acceptable fix for this issue?

the car is still under warranty and has been in for oil pressure light issues twice in the past.

sorry to hear about this.. I say as long as the car is under warranty, and you don't stick mods on there that will give them an excuse to deny you coverage in future, let them do what they want to do to fix the situation. If it breaks again in future, just drag the thing back in to them to fix....

if the car was shut down immediately, and no metal shavings got into the system and mucked up other parts, it should work just fine. Good luck on the issue, several people have commented on how difficult it is to work with Subaru on having the failed tube covered under warranty.

This car is completely unmodded (besides an g200 catback) and never goes to the track. Its my daily driver and has gotten all scheduled maintenance at this particular dealership.
my bumper to bumper is about to expire but i still have the powertrain warrenty for about 25k miles more.....
wouldnt at least the rings be fired too? what about the heads and the turbo?

The rings should be replaced when the engine is disassembled. The heads and turbo could be in bad shape or they could be ok.

Just let them know you understand the consequences of oil starvation and you expect the engine to be put back to OEM specs.

if bearing material was spread through the motor (which it most likely was), the OEM oil cooler (exchanger), all little metal filters (in AVCS, turbo, and heads) will need replaced/cleaned. the heads, cam journals and EVERYTHING will need a thourough cleaning.

most likely the crank is fubarred anyhow...same with your rod big end. If it's making a noise....lots of damage has occured.

sorry for your loss. another pickup tube bites the dust.

Sorry for not updating, but in case anyone is wondering, the pickup tube failed.

my engine was rebuilt under warranty.
