Default Smartest way to achieve 400 whp

Hello everyone.....

I just recently got rid of my 2001 supercharged Mustang in favor of a 2006 sti.

The car is awesome in everyway.....I dig the boxer sound, the power at all revs, the styling and most of all the handling.

Here is the question: What is the best way to achieve 400 whp?

It seems like a full exhaust system and a turo like the gt52 are the ticket. I assume that injectors and a fuel pump are also in order.

What else is needed?

GT52, EWG, FMIC, injectors, full exhaust, intake, good tune.

I would personally add meth into the mix, but with what I listed above you should be pretty close to 400.

The dyno makes a difference too. 350 on one could be 400 on another.

alot of turbos can get you to 400whp
The GT52 is a good choice, you would also need bigger injectors, fuel pump, intake, tbe, FMIC, and maybe meth

you'd really only go with 650cc for that power?

other then that i'd do this

TBE
Phenolic spacers
TMIC/FMIC
Full Intake
Headers
EWG
GT52 is what im leaning towards
Injectors
Fuel rails
Fuel Pump
Tune!

You can throw meth/alky into it if you want as well before the tune.

I'm looking for about 400whp myself. And as everyone before me stated, my planned mods are similar.

Fuel pump, dw750cc injectors, prodrive boost solenoid, apv2, intake, turbo inlet, aps tmic, tbe, header/uppipe, gt52, meth

Just waiting on a couple more parts then off to the tuner for install and tune. I hope my 07 doesn't blow up before then....ha......ha.

Im going for 450awhp w/out meth and heres what I am doing

now I am going for 600awhp in the long run with with the same setup but this is just until my motor is built. If you went to a Perrin 30R .82 AR EXT Housing kit you should come right up on 400awhp.

• Perrin 35R .82 AR EXT Housing Kit
• Perrin Sig Series FMIC w/ Black Core
• Perrin Big Maf
• Perrin Recirc Valve
• APS 3 inch Twin Tip Catback Exhaust
• DW 1100 CC Injectors
• Walbro 255 LPH Fuel Pump
• NGK Iridium Spark Plugs (1 Step cooler)
• Crawford Air Oil Separator
• Prodrive Boost Solenoid
• Gruppe-S Un-Equal Length Headers
• JDM Spec C Manifold with TGV Deletes
• JDM Fuel Rails (TopFeed)
• GrimmSpeed Intake Manifold Phenolic Spacers w/extended im bolts
• GrimmSpeed Group A Throttle Body Spacer
• Cobb Accessport V2.0
• ProTune w/ XXChris (efi logics)

I didnt know DW made bigger then 850 injectors

Im going down that similer path.

except im going with APS rails and a MBC instead of a 3 port boost solenoid.

They only make injectors bigger than 850 for the 07+ STI i believe

Me personally, I would go with bigger injectors than the 650's. Stick with a 850-1000 injectors when lurking for 400+, you will never run out of fuel in case you decide for more WHP in the long run and the injectors can be cycled down also if you were planning on staying at the 400+ range. Spend the extra couple bucks and get the larger ones, you will thank yourself.

Many companies make 850-1000cc injectors for many previous models than the 07. I run 1100cc's in my 04 and have run 860's prior to the 1100's.........

DW 650cc a little small for the Turbos and the power we are talking about expecially if your not running Meth. A good all around Injector is the DW 740cc good for pretty much from a 20g-to a GT52.. Meth FTW..
