No matter what you do, don't forget the forged pistons! The stockers won't last!

I would go with a Cosworth short block.
Or if you really wanted to take it up a notch go with their long block. Then you could hold alot of powa!!!

But seriously at least get some forged pistons.

Just not possible with a top mount intercooler, and yes I have seen the APS TMIC. A VF39 will put one into heatsoak, let alone the 25+ psi you will have to throw at it to reach 500 WHP. Good luck

Why use a tmic? especially if you want high numbers, you are going at it all wrong....you need fmic to take advantage of anything bigger than a 20g imo.

I made 427WHP with the TMIC at 24 psi, and we were doing pull after pull no heatsoak issues whatsoever couldve hit 25psi or 26psi but the damn perrin EBCS limited up. So I know I can make 500WHP with the right setup. Can heatsoak happen yes but its not a big deal, what I am saying is I can make the power, I did and the throttle response from the TMIC is AWESOME its alot of fun.. Does a FMIC work better depends and not heatsoak like a TMIC well yes but am I gonna run out and get one tomorrow no.. A larger TMIC with the right setup is plenty capable... To each there own, you know what I mean. But thanks cause I need some luck for the 500WHP

Why not use a TMIC if you have it, explain how we are going at it all wrong?

You dont need a FMIC to take advantage of a bigger turbo. I just made 427WHP/433TQ with my TMIC and a DOM 3 @ 24 psi which is not even at the sweet spot of that turbo. If I could have run 25-26 psi which is what that turbo wants to see I would have made 450WHP..

The TMIC does not limit you.. Look at AMS with there new GT30 rotated kit for the STI they run it with a TMIC and made 406/423 and 485WHP with race gas.. Numbers are numbers I am more for how the car feels and drives and my setup with the TMIC and the DOM 3 spools quick and the throttle response is awesome.. I have no heatsoak issues at all. We did pull after pull with a tiny fan and I still didn't have heatsoak did I run the meth for that reason yes..

All in all it depends on the setup you want to run.. I will probably go to a FMIC when my setup needs one, but it doesn't need one right now so why go with the norm and the generalization that hey bigger turbo you need a FMIC or you will never see any power.. Thats what I am trying to prove wrong..
