IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2006 Trader Rating: (9) | I was thinking of getting a 08 tmic for my "stage 2" tune and was thinking what if i got a FMIC with a smaller core instead of a giant core. Then i wouldnt be losing THAT much spool and id be making some good power. Anyone know the FMIC kit with the smallest core? This ad is not endorsed by this member. IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2005 Trader Rating: (1) | its not just the core size, its how much more piping you have to run and how much more air it has to move. Large TMIC > small FMIC Thats like buying a used a crappy new product vs a good product used product |

Dont get a 08 TMIC its a waste.. I sent you like 3 links for APS TMIC I think the guy wanted like 500 bucks for a brand new one he wasnt gonna use... Any FMIC you get your gonna feel the lag, if you want a small core FMIC get the SSAC FMIC or the TXS they are both the same FMIC and on the small side.. But I am all about the TMIC the throttle response is just great and its such a sleeper look.. Hell I am not doing a DOM 3.0R + APS TMIC for nothing ![]() But if you really want to get a bigger TMIC, look at APS, Spearco, AVO, PWR only ones I would spend money on..

IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2007 Trader Rating: (1) | My feeling is to skip the larger TMIC all together unless you're dead set on sticking with the stock turbo. My feeling is that the IC is in a really bad spot (getting blasted with heat from the turbo and engine) and I'm saving my pennies for a FMIC and turbo upgrade in one shot. |

Thats the old school thinking about the TMIC is only good for a stock size Turbo.. There are plenty of good setups with TMIC and big turbos. Like Kit said a Green is perfectly fine with a TMIC a bigger one of course. The debate is endless on this one.. What I am saying is that if you want to run a TMIC with the proper mods and precautions you can and not have a issue.. You say why even go thru the trouble.. I hear ya but my .02 is that if you want to or even have to run a TMIC dont let that be the deciding factor on what Turbo you get or when you get it.

| Senior STI Driver | Yep, link to my journal is my sig if you would like to view pics. Was a great kit, very straight foward and very well engineered. Still not tuned so no power numbers with it on yet or anything. |
