Default GT52 + Spearco TMIC, no meth, 91 gas, COBB catted DP + 2 resonators, 360whp possible?

well, the title is the question

just curious, since I've been hearing that the P&L 30R kit with spearco TMIC, and catless setup, 93 no meth can give 372whp P&L dynojet as shown in this thread

P&l Gt3076r .82 2007 Sti - NASIOC

can GT52 + Spearco TMIC + catted DP + catback with 2 resonators + 91 no meth put down 350whp+ on the same dyno??

GT52 + FMIC + 3" catless + 93 no meth can put down 400whp on DynoDynamics (don't know if it reads higher or lower than P&L dynojet)

so my theory,
TMIC = -20whp
Cat = -15whp
Resonators = -10whp
91 gas = -10whp

total loss -55whp

so 400whp - 55whp = 345whp I don't think 350+whp is possible with the setup

any opinions welcome.

It depends on the car and the conditions of the dyno but a GT52 should be over 350.

Throw some meth into the mix and you should definately be over 350.

Resonator and cat will not make you lose 25 HP, thats like saying a catback will give you 25HP.

You could do it on a DynaPack

I'm making 350whp with a FPgreen, Spearco TM, 65mm intake, TGV deletes, and I'm catless. 91 oct on a dynaPack.

I see, so with your setup + cat on dynapack should only give about 340whp then

dynapack reads higher or lower than dynojet??

Ya about 10whp or so. Cats seriously restrict the turbo a lot.

It's hard to say. DynaPaks and DynoJets are very similar. But it really depends how the tuner is using the dynaPak. The tuner can actually fully load the dyno so to keep the RPM's static during the first part of the pull. This spools the turbo before the dyno is actully measuring anything. 2-4 seconds is a common load time. But I know some tuners out there who will do it for longer which will inflate power/torque numbers.

this is hard, i just found out that I'll need 350whp mustang dyno, in order for our car to match the new GT-R's power to weight ratio

GT-R 4000lb (w/driver) /410whp (mustang dyno harman motive) = 9.75lb/whp

my STI 3400lb (w/driver) /280whp (mustang dyno PDXtuning) = 12.14lb/whp

now to get close to 9.75lb/hp, I'll need 350whp

so if my STI still 3400lb (w/driver) /350 (mustang dyno) = 9.71lb/whp

350 mustang dyno will be so hard to get though, which means, I'll need at least 370 dynojet

I know the only way to get this number is to go FMIC and catless w/ GT52

now how many GT-R owners are going to keep it stock? I say very few. They'll mod it just like you are, catless exhaust, re-tune bigger inj (if needed) and they'll be knocking at 500 whp with minor mods.

so you would need an enourmous amount of HP if your goal is to outrun one.

If they can. Sounds like Nissan went to great lengths to try and prevent the GT-R from being modded for more power.

haha, there's no way i could outdone a GT-R, but I just want to be able to drive a car with comparable power with GT-R

to buy a new GT-R will cost me = $80,000+

to mod my STI to feel like (have similar power to weight ratio to) GT-R = $5000

I save $75,000+

plus I'll have the fun of 6-speed manual tranny, modding, and the convenience of a 4-door sedan.

The subaru rally car appeal is there too!!

I don't care if the GT-R will have better real world performance, I just want more fun with my car.

gt52 is pretty hefty, i don't think i would run it with a tmic to get the most out of it.

TMIC wont lose you that much horsepower, especially on a dyno w/ 3+ fans blowing allover it.

Alot of guys run the GT52 with TMIC, and there are alot of GT35R setups with TMIC Full Race does them I believe. I am running a Blouch DOM 3.0R with a APS TMIC and Meth doing it right now and getting tuned on Saturday.

Will you get the full potential of the Turbo no, can you make it one little quick spooling sick setup yes. Done right you can make some power..

DO IT.... I am like I said.. I will be running the DOM 3.0 R with a APS TMIC and Meth with a dual nozzle setup probably. The GT52 makes real nice power and on low boost.. Your -20WHP for the TMIC and all your other minus numbers arent accuarte it would be to hard to tell. Are you gonna leave some power on the table with the TMIC sure crazy power no way.. And the Spearco is a awesome TMIC.. Just for an example Mike from Blouch ran a DOM 2 which is a GT52 or its a DOM 3 with out being BB... Anyway its a damn 52lb Turbo he ran his with a TMIC for over a year no Meth and put out 386WHP on a dynojet I believe at 23.5 psi with 112+ traps I believe and he said heatsoak wasnt a issue for him.. And that was with the little stocker... TMIC FTW....

Seriously dude it makes for one quick spooling monster.. But hey wait till Saturday when I post my #'s I will be the genui pig.. I will be on a dynojet a fair reading one stock STI put down 235-250 WHP on it.. But according to silverex he put down 270WHP with his BONE STOCK 06 STI.. Go figure I have a 06 and was full STG 2 and put down 288 WHP on that dynojet.. His car must be a beast.. Oh back to my point yeah dude, GT52 + Spearco + Meth you will piss yourself.. I just did but I have been drinkin since 11am

there's nothing against a tmic, but for the same price you can have a fmic with better cooling efficiency for such a nice turbo, esp with no meth and also with poopy 91 octane.
