I can only assume the reason they did that was to reduce the amount of oil getting blown into the intake. In the pictures its easy to see why it cant keep up.. But I still want some proof to see actual numbers that show a noticeable power gain..

Stupid question here. Is there any chance of oil shooting out where the cap would be?

I have a perfect way to test this in my car. I do 4th gear pulls all the time at a local straightaway to measure the performance of my roms. I normally do about 3, and then go home and calculate my 2-4k, 4-6k, and 2-6k times. I can easily tell the difference in little things like temperature, timing, fueling, etc. I may try this out and see if there's any difference.

Well we were saying to put a hose in the hole so that oil doesn't come out. Maybe route it to a can or an A/O separator.

If you drive without the oil cap, you will definitely get oil coming out.

I thought I saw a pic yesterday of a device that's meant to vent the block like this. It was like a big filter on top of the oil inlet pipe or whatever.

That is a domestic thing. Nobody here thinks that is a good idea.

One of the things that should be pointed out here is that the PCV system is designed to slam close a valve if there is a backfire (very unlikely) through the intake that could send flames into the block igniting the crank case vapors thus possibly exploding. (Once again, very unlikey but can happen) So the idea of running a line to the intake without such a device could cause some pretty bad things to happen.

Lots of people delete the PCV valve and have no problem running 500+ whp.
