Default perrin headers installed

Hey all just got my perrin headers installed by my tech. They are great but i have one issue maybe someone can adress. When i give my car a slight rev i hear a raddle type noise. It only happends when i get on it somewhat or just rev it up. Maybe its the heat shield raddling on the uppipe? or maybe my clamps on the headers? any ideas? i highly doubt its cracked trust me its the first thing i thought of.
Thanks all!!

Is it a rattle or more of an exhaust leak type sound. If it is the latter... welcome to the suckage that is known as Perrin EL header slip joints. I spent almost $150 in random stuff and different ideas to get my Perrin header to seal up worth a crap. For your sake - I hope its something else.

Check for leaks adn clearance issues. If the headers are leaking you must have a black carbon mark in the flanges.

Just check all of your heat shields, that sounds like what it is. Good luck.

which heat shields? there shouldn't be any left after removing the OEM header.

but i have to agree, that your installer must have not tightened something, or knocked something else loose.

impossible to diagnose over a forum.

have someone sit in your car, and rev it a few times while you stick your head in the engine bay watch out for moving fans/belts though, and try not to get burnt

well
1. i do under the table work with my 8 year subaru tech. i trust him espically knowing hes built many rotated mount kits etc.
2. i looked under the car no signs of cracks i saw a clamp rubbing the motor mount so i moved that.
3. Its werid because it only happends when i take off from a stop. ill hear a raddle then its gone. Like when you take off your engine shakes a bit so thats what im thinking. I just dont see how the header could of cracked already. Yea, ive read the fourms etc. i no they are prone to crack overtime but damm 2nd day? doubt full.

i dont know if i mentioned this but i can hear it most towards my passenger side door. Like where the uppipe is. arghhhh. If it was a leak wouldnt i hear it all the time? espically on wot? I havent had a leak so i really dont know what im listening for. For right now all i hear is a kinda baning sound. To metals hitting each other or like a loose screw jiggling around. Then again i dont know what a real exhaust leak sounds like. Thought i was more like a wistle

I know that the header heat shields are gone J. I was talking about the uppipe one and if he has one over the dp, to check that too. My uppipe shield was loose and although it never made noise when driving, I could move it around and make it make noise. Just recheck everything that you touched during the install.

BTW, how do you like the EL sound? I plan on buying this header in the future.
