IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2008 Trader Rating: (0) | I took the FMIC off and cleaned the IC-piping, BOV & throttle body. There was about quarter pint of oil in my FMIC. Enought to effect my AF ratio and make it run like crap. After I cleaned it it runs a lot better. If you have the same problem think about running an oil catch can. I'm going to get one soon. For now, the problem is fixed! This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |

IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2008 Trader Rating: (0) | What mods do you have done? Do you beast on your car a lot, drive hard at rpm's? If so that's why you're getting more oil vapor than average. Clean it all out, and look into a oil catch tank. Cusco, Perrin, Greddy & who else, Crawford is probably the best one but it's expensive but the difference is that it's supposed to return the oil back to the engine instead of wait for you to empty it out. Oh as far as all the oil you found inside you Throttle body & Intake Manifold, that exactly where all the oil is coming from. It sits right on top of the valve covers under the Intake Manifold and then when you run boost and your BOV goes off it spray the oil out. ![]() I was told that it's normal, the STI engine is design to run that way to lubicate the turbine with oil vapors. Thats probably why our owner's manual says to check your oil everytime you fill up on gas! |

IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2008 Trader Rating: (0) | The only way to tell whether the pistons & rings are good is to do a compression test cost like $130 to find out if all the cyclinders are at the right compression rate. But if the car is running good don't worry about it. Just look into the Oil Catch can, I need one too now! This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |
