Default Seaux... blew a gasket or....?

So yesterday, on an onramp, I had the car up to 3.5k-4k when a noise occurred. From what I recall, there was a drop in power instantaneously as well. The noise is a rapping like noise and from in-cab, it's right near the turbocharger. Likewise, when I open the hood, it is coming right from the under the heatshield.

I suspect a blown gasket because when I had my grimmspeed uppipe, COBB TBE installed, the shop used Remflex Graphite Gaskets. I have heard many complaints about them lasting a very short while, even to the point of being faulty. [shame on me for not going oem, i know]

The strange thing is that, my stock mech. boost gauge showed me hitting target boost on the highway of 17.5 psi. Although the car didn't feel strong at all, so perhaps its the gauge placement?

Help me out IWSTI.

Link to video of in cab, exterior hood open and closed.

Someone also mentioned perhaps the one of the fins in the VF39?

Sounds like an exhaust leak to me. Take it back to the shop and tell them you want decent gaskets put on and tell them they should do it for free. I would use subaru gaskets where you can.

Have you had an exhaust leak before? Is that typically what it sounds like? After re-watching my own video, it sounds more mechanical, really. However, I have never had an exhaust leak nor do I know what they are supposed to look like.

Remflex graphite gasket blow blown crap terrible awful....

There now the search feature should find this thread.

I took my car into the Subaru dealership and all is well now. Both gaskets pre/post turbo blew out. I wouldn't recommend these gaskets to anyone, ever. Stick to the OEM only. I just wanted to update this thread to help the iwsti community.
