All 07 STis have the hesitation issue. It's the programming in the tune that comes from the factory. If you dont believe it, drive a previous MY, or a stage 1+.

There are quite a few looooooong threads on this subject...

They have no reason to deny your warranty IF you were truly stock and only had stage 1

Yes, an ECU reflash voids the warranty. As it should.

Some dealers don't care about AP stage 1. In fact, I think some dealers sell APs.

Sorry to hear about this. I also have an '07. So far no problems. I'm coming up on a year and have about 24k on it. I also have the full warranty so I'm not looking to do anything as far as mods right now.

nothing special, everyone should use tactrix cable and enginuity before modding to test cylinder roughness and knock

this is true and I like I found out today, after visiting the 3 dealers around my area. One of them was very mod friendly and did not try to hide the hesitation issue about the 07s like the other 2. The service manager told me that if the vehicle is modded, he would look at the part individually and after conducting an investigation, the part would have to be a direct contribution to the failure of what was being asked to be fixed under warranty.

So to answer the question about the AP, and I asked them all the same way...

Would the AP void the warranty... I was told simply to unmarry it before bringin the vehicle in for a service. And even then the AP like anyone else here knows is only gonna help your vehicle run better so its not viewed as an item that will void your warranty for sure.

Bottom line.... find a dealer that feels the same way and obviously do not get into a pissing contest if you go to one and they automatically deny a warranty claim... just try to find another dealership.

Remember this is just in regards to the AP and not anything else that is known to have contributed to blown 07 motors... I.E. Uncatted Downpipes especially without any EM.

I hope this helps to answer your question and I am glad I found a dealership that is mod friendly near me, I am bringing in my STI to them as the last dealership I took it to, told me that there was no such "reflash" and even downplayed the hesitation problem with the 07s as "we cannot reproduce the problem".... I was pissed... my response was, I guess its all in my head then... stupid...

If you truely want to feel 100% safe... do not mod your motor and if it blows, really who cares... it will be fixed under warranty... no reason to worry to death every day about driving a car that is supposed to be pushed like a true performance car and not babied like a freaking old bucket.

So where you running any of these mods before the tune? Such as the FMIC or injectors?
