DIY gatorade catch can + 5/8" ID breather lines = less consumption, maybe 1qt per 3k miles but with heavy driving it could use a lot, like a half quart in a night at the dragstrip. Mann & Hummel air/oil separator = absolutely zero consumption Crawford air/oil separator = a teeny bit of consumption And when I tried both air/oil separators I was running a built motor with looser tolerences.
