Hey STIstud2k7, let me ask you a important question. What experience do you have to understand that a "tuner" did the correct tune on your car, and you know that he did a good job? Have you tuned cars before? Have you RESEARCHED about reading data logs, AFR's, dyno plots? Ofcourse, if you bring me a bone stock STi, and you have a turbo back exhaust, I can flash a Cobb Ap Stg2 map with the correct octane fuel you have, and you will come back and rave how much faster the car is. Most "tuners" can make your car run faster and feel "awesome", but, is it reliable? Safe? Conservative? Too lean? Too rich? Hows the timing? Any knock? My point exactly.

He has tuned many Subaru's. Recently, I heard he tuned a 05 STi and he blow up his engine. So, I'm not to sure. The rest have said that he did good and safe tunes for STi.

Wait a min. Did you just say he tuned a 2005 STi, and blew the kid's engine? So why did you pick him instead of Jorge at P&L with your 2007 STI?!??! Wow.....

Did I read that right?!?!

I don't know who this Jorge is, but it may be a good investment to go see him.

The 05 wasn't a kids car. Actually, he was OLD like you guys are. He had some problems when he was tuning his car. I think his car had to many problems so it was running like crap as you can say.

Is that like the Jamican lady who would say "CALL ME NOW".. you got tuned by a place like that, by a place that already blew up one motor on a 05.. I mean what does that say to you?? ** i didnt read all the posts but....***
I have an 07 and am gettin kinda spooked w/ the all the 07 failures.... no one has a definite answer but will getting a ProTune solve my worries? and if my engine is already on its way out (9.5K and some change), if its got the same problem as others, will a tune and upgraded internals fix the problem, or is the 07 kinda plagued?

Get a Compression test if your worried at all. I would do the reflash seems to be working out for everyone else..

I would spend the $185 and go see Jorge over at P&L... your only investing 0.5% extra on your 35k investment to make sure it lasts you a long time!
