I have been doing alot of reading about turbo blankets, but cant seem to find a definite answer to my question about how it affects the life of the turbo from all the excess heat that is retained in the turbo.... Anyone have any good knowledge about this?

I just asked this same question today when I called Blouch about my DOM 3 and there reply was that they suggested a turbo blanket and that is did not reduce the life of the turbo or affect it in any way. They suggested getting it jethot coated and using a trubo blanket. I mean on the hotside you want to retain that heat its just you dont want it to radiate and cause heatsoak issues which is where the blanket helps out..

Yeah I figured it wouldn't cause to many problems since it already handles so much heat just don't want to wear out my stock turbo b4 im ready to go rotated

^^^
That looks very nice, but it will not fit well for IWG turbos or IWG turbos converted for EWG.

Thumbs up Re: Turbo Blanket Info and Writeup inside

I installed the ebay one from the first post and it is a beast. The Static X one I had is a joke compared to this one, luckily I got that one free. This one is thick, really thick and well made. It is kind of a PITA to get on while the turbo is on the car, but not too bad. It only included one stainless steel clamp, and the blanket does not fully cover the entire turbo. I am on the stock turbo setup. i would recommend it though.

Guys, if you are interested in organizing a group buy on this turbo blanket, I've posted the group buy here. Just join as "Interested" for now. Once we get a final price from the seller, we can see who is going to actually participate in the group buy.

GotoGroupBuy.com | Turbo beenie, Turbo blanket, Turbocharger heat shield **Group Discount** (Group Buy # 126) - GotoGroupBuy.com

Thanks!
