IWSTI Addict since: Aug 2007 Trader Rating: (0) | yes, another intake problem. yes, i did search... but found nothing with my exact dilemma. i flashed it with cobb stage one 93 oct. and after i flashed it i felt no real power gains and i wasnt sure if it was my intake setup(spt sri with heatshield) sooo i switched back to the stock box to see if that might help and it deffffff did. i found all the power gains were being lost with the spt sri because cobb initially tuned there cars with the stock box. and its a huge difference, but my only problem is i lost all sound and i even did the silencer delete on my stock box with a k&n drop but theres really no sounds at all now considering i heard everything with my spt. now my question is will the aps cai 65mm give me all the sounds(spooling, stock bpv) that my spt sri gave me? and will it do it without slowing be down like the spt did? thanks... It will be the same as the spt though...you'll need a tune to unleash the power. Until then stick with the stock air box which is what im doing until i get protuned. |

IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2007 Trader Rating: (0) | if you take a measurement of the stock pipeing size right where the Air Mass Flow Sensor is and then measure your aftermarket one you can find out if the car is running lean or rich. If the aftermarket CAI is within .1 of the size of stock you'll be ok as long as there is no crazy bends in the pipe before it enters the intake. If its any bigger then stock your car will run LEAN if it's smaller it will run RICHER. Thats why you should keep the stock air box with a good drop in filter until u get a tune. sorry but sometimes cool noises does'nt make any power. If you want more info call COBB and they will tell you the best setup and explain why. This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |
