Default Mishimoto Radiator installed

About a week ago I get to autozone to buy some stuff, when I come out my car was steaming and pissing out coolant. Two months ago I had purchased some silicone hoses and 160 degree thermostat. I did the install and everything seemed good. After about a week I started have seeping issues from the hoses, so I cranked them down some more. Did not help at all, so I tightened them till they could not go know more. Still with them that tight they still would seep. After inspecting, it seemed like the stock clamps just could not pinch the hard silicone hoses enough. Which now leads me back to autozone.

I popped the hood and my top radiator hose blew right off. When I looked at the radiator inlet, the lipped cracked right off and the hoses just slid off. So I add to unfortunately purchase a Mishimoto Aluminium Radiator. I have seen pics in magazine and it looked great. When I received it in,WOW. It looks great and I made the switch. It did not come with radiator fans bolts like it said but a trip to autozone fixed that. It does come with a new radiator cap(1.1bar). I just had to shortened the top hose alittle on the block side. I would have posted pics but the camera crapped out.

I have had it on for about 4week now and no problems. For the money nothing comes close. Its about half the price of a koyo and double the size of the stock radiator.

I just got one from Josh, we'll see how it holds up to the summer heats.

hey - same here...after getting protuned last week and a few spirited excursions over the weekend, i've noticed the water temps have increased in tendency to climb into the hot side. got the radiator and hoses combo from Josh as well.

Did your seep issues go away after replacing the rad? do you think the seep was actually traceable to the stock rad?

After I went back to the stock hoses, I have had no seeping issues. As far as temp spikes, I have not had any. Its sounds like you have air in your system. I never go more than a tag over the first line and I live in florida. What coolant are you using?

Steve, can you clarify? You've had seeping with the GMS Silicone hoses that came with the Mishimoto Radiator Combo buy, or they were some other aftermarket hoses?

I first started out with the stock radiator an gms hoses. Once the hoses were on I kept getting seeping on the upper hose where it mounts to the radiator and block. No matter how tight the clamps got, it did not make a difference. Took them off and sanded the inlets and still it kept seeping. I guess I tightened the radiator side to much and cracked the inlet on the stock radiator. I bought the mishimoto radiator and put the stock hoses back on and its been all good since.

Great, thanks for your prompt response to my question, I'll give it a try with GMS hoses and Mishimoto Radiator. You should have tried getting those hoses replaced, who knows maybe they're defected.

i have the stock fluid in the car, changed only once at around 50k. sounds that that may indeed be the case with the spiking. my intent is to add heat rejection capability to the car for track events during the summer. last summer i boiled the fluid during a late June event. fall event was ok.

have another event in a couple weeks and would like this to not happen again.

Thanks for the input...will def keep that in mind.
