Default Removed Turbo for Nitrous

Has anyone removed their turbo and run nitrous with nitrous cams and how much nitrous?

I don't think anyone has ever done that. If it weren't for the pesky nitrous fillups, you might actually be onto something there.

A turbo is like a nitrous bottle that you never have to refill.

If you are ONLY going to drag race the car, I guess it might be a workable idea. But Why?

I figure I will get better mpg and longevity as a daily driver and be faster at the track with as much torque as a Viper. I'm also wondering if running 50 psi in the tires to reduce rolling resistance would make the car faster as long as launching wasn't a problem.

with out the turbo, the EJ257 is going to have LESS horsepower and LESS torque than the EJ253 which we see in the 2.5i and RS. i don't see how you think running nitrous is going to add 300whp and 300wtq...

wanna know something funny? i get 27-28mpg on the hwy with my sti

no, dont over inflate tires!!! you are talking about things that are opposite. Reliability, gas mileage, longevity, and speed?!!

buy a little hybrid civic or prius if you want mileage and reliability.

buy and STi and mod it if you want power and speed.

for longevity you must drive whatever you own easy.

to remove the turbo, over inflate the tires, add nitrous.
tell me your going to overinflate tires to 50 psi and then put nitrous on and go 100+ mph.....?

Nitrous likes lower compression like boosted cars and the EJ253 have higher compression ratios which limit Nitrous. Yes the EJ257 will have less hp initially but will take alot more nitrous with the lower cr and stronger internals, especially with custom nitrous cams, which I may not need if the profiles turn out to be similar to the the turbo cams. I'm shooting for 500whp and 500 ft-lbs. and 27-28 mpg cty.
