IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2007 Trader Rating: (0) | I just recently installed a divorced wastegate down-pipe from Perrin without engine management. I decided that I would try to take my turbo off and port the wastegate opening on the exhaust housing. Halfway through I decided against this permanent modification. By this point I had removed the two coolant line banjo bolts and the oil feed line banjo bolt. I tightened them back on, and put my down-pipe on. I topped off on coolant and started my car, letting it run for 15 minutes while checking for leaks. No problem. Here’s what’s scaring me. My temperature gauge fluctuates while I am driving. It will rise and fall rapidly when still or in motion. It has been doing this for 6 days after the installation. I have the standard CEL light and blinking cruise control light due to not having any EM. I also noticed the sound of air bubbles in my coolant lines, near the reservoir that’s by the turbo. I have been driving conservatively, keeping it at or under 3000k on shifts, staying out of boost 90% of the time. Is something wrong or am I alright? This ad is not endorsed by this member. Amazes me how many people do things like this with all the info on this site and others of how bad it is to do modifications like that without EM. Couldn't afford it at the time is not an excuse either you just had your purchasing priorities mixed up. Sorry to go on a rant like that just find it hard to believe your willing to risk your engine when I have a feeling you already know its bad to have no EM. So good luck with that "Oh but I dont drive in boost" plan you have going there. This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |
