Default Re: GT3071R or GT3076R?

I did a search for full-race and this popped up. I am planning a turbo down the road and was probably planning a 30r since its going to mainly be a street car. I see that full-race gets alot of good reviews from the members here so i was checking them out and am picking between the 2 turbos listed in the title. Personally, i agree w/ whoever said that the 500-600 ~ rpm isnt that bad on the street..... i also did a search on youtube under full-race STi and there was only one posted, the car sounded good but the manifold is kinda what has me spooked.... it sounds like w/ the turbo upgrade and using the manifold from full-race you lose 80-90% of the boxer rumble? maybe its just a bad vid..... thought i would post anyway since im just now starting to do some research on a future turbo upgrade

for a 2.5L engine i would definitely recommend the 3076R. The 3071R will spool barely earlier, and would only make sense if it was a competitive autocross application. For a street setup where you want to beat an equal power level evo, 3076R or 3582R is the way to go. Twinscroll just makes the 30R stronger. It spools earlier, makes boost sooner, and has quicker throttle/boost response, particularly in the lower rpm. There is just more energy available for the turbine.

i agree, unless you were a crazy auto-x'ing cone killer

that video was not of our twinscroll kit, it was just our stock replacement setup with a Green. we will put up a vid and soundclips of our twinscroll 40R kit on the street and dyno in the next week or so. Its a really nice exhaust note, still a boxer rumble, but much throatier and stronger. no rasp
