IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2007 Trader Rating: (0) | Hi, My stock STI has about 7000 kilometers on it. I received an 07 ECU update about 3000 KM's ago, this fixed some of the jerkiness upon throttle-down, and apparently fixed some power issues around 3000-4000 RPM. However, I still continue to have inconsistent boost. The dealer says the car is fine, but I still notice that sometimes I get good boost, other times with the same throttle position and car speed, it feels like the car has less power. Sometimes it even feels like the boost is coming in "clouds" (uneven). It is a leased vehicle so I want to keep it stock. Any suggestions on this boost issue? IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2007 Trader Rating: (0) | Thx for the Cobb information. As an update, the dealer had my car for 2 days, took it apart many times trying to find the problem. They managed to get some data showing the inconsistent boost. They said that the catalytic on the downpipe is faulty and have ordered a replacement for next week. They put the car back together temporarily until the part comes in. The car has even less boost now. Have you folks run across catalytic's causing such a problem? |

IWSTI Addict since: Oct 2007 Trader Rating: (0) | i am running the same issue. I had to wait to bring my car in to the shop and by the time i did i had no boost at all. The dealer took apart my car and found that the first cat split into pieces like a pie. When this happened i assume that pieces of metal went and got stuck in the other cat, and also went back into the turbo and completely messed everything up. After they replaced my turbo and exhaust is was running fine. Now i seem to be losing power again and i just took it into the shop and they told me it was fine and that it was hitting boost properly. let me know if you figure out what is going on with the 07's. I am waiting to do mods until i can figure this one out first. I would hate to void the warranty by putting on some mods, and then have something happen again |

IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2007 Trader Rating: (0) | Hi, I will advise you as I proceed. So far, the factory downipipe is on backorder...ETA unknown (which now makes me suspect that this is a cronic problem)...at this point I kinda miss my bullet proof Honda V6 (I had my foot mashed through the floorboards for 4 years straight and it never coughed once (what a sweet motor at high revs). | Junior STI Driver | The 07's are known to have Jeckly and Hyde Syndrome.... only way to cure it is with a protune, and upgraded fuel pump (stageII). The ecu likes to retard boost any time it sees something it does not like, and then after about 50 miles or so it reverts back to a beast. Then you start mashing the gas, the ecu sees something it does not like, and the vicious cycle continues all over again. This ad is not endorsed by this member.
