Default TBE Choices??

i'm going stage 2 in the near future and have heard great things about the mad dad TBE. how does this compare to the COBB.....obviously it's cheaper.
i like the sound the mad dad makes. any other suggestions? HKS, Invidia?

It's a matter of preference. Do you want the JDM look or OEM look? Something loud where you can be heard a mile away or something a little more subtle? Regardless of what TBE you get, the bigger piping is going to help give you a deeper, throatier sound. Performance doesn't vary that much across different setups. Quality/fitment will vary a little.

I LOVE my maddad tbe. I wanted something that looked stock-like and wasn't too loud. The build is awesome. It fits perfect and makes me happy every time I start up my car.

do some research, it all comes down to preference. you're going to get a million different opinions.

And since you're rocking an 07, do some research about catted vs. catless downpipes with the OTS (assuming that is what you are using) Cobb Maps. They say it's a 'no-no' to use a catless downpipe with the OTS map without messing with the restrictor pill and such. Just some food for thought

Personally, I loved the fitment of my Invidia TBE on my old WRX. But, it was LOUD.

make sure you read all about boost creep if you read in cold weather.

unless you plan to port the wg or go ewg. I was debating the same thing you are and decided on the cobb based off the experiences other people who live in cold weather had.

also remember the cobb has the 2.5 inch taper. so if you are going for big power you may want to replace it or have it "fixed".

I have the MadDad Whisper cat-back. 3" all the way and I like the subdued mellow sound at idle which does get louder when getting on it.

same here! also have the v2 headers. both great quality. i went with the turbo xs 4" downpipe though. its one place where bigger is always better.

I am planning on going Stg 2 shortly. I have narrowed my choice to the MadDad Whisper- love the deep rich boxer tone that doesn't scream look at me.
For those with experience with the MadDad which Downpipe did you go with? This will most likely be the furthest I go with power and I have yet to narrow down how my car will be tuned (either custom tune or get protuned using the Cobb). I am trying to achieve 300whp or close to it .
My Stg1 is putting down 261 right now on a dyno dynamics dyno.

Thanks for any light you can shed on your set up.
