Exclamation TGV deletes

Me and my 07' sti wish to be a lot faster. That being said this is my question. "Are the tgv deletes worth spending the extra money?" I am buying a rotated turbo kit, headers, fuel kit, etc. I have seen the crawford tgv deletes and wonder if the extra money is worth it? Any ideas?

What do you think?

Actually, after seeing a lot of data across the boards, it doesn't appear to be a huge difference. However, all the little stuff adds up. Additionally, it depends on what you consider to be a worthwhile difference. On a rotated turbo setup running some nice boost, the deletes will probably give you a great bang for the buck. On the stock Turbo ... not so much.

Depends. How big is the turbo you're using? Also look at grimmspeeds deletes, oem fit and perfect machining. There is a core charge but they aren't expensive and they have excellent customer service.

Hi if you are going over the 400 and up WHP this would be a required mod if you stay around the 400 mark you would be fine to leave them.

You could do them yourself for free. Or you could buy a set of deleted ones I still need to get rid of for 175 then sell yours. I say if the intake manifold is going to come off for any reason then you might as well.

if you are doing all that, yes, it is worth it. make sure you have an inspection plan if your state does obd2 emissions testing.

My planned tuner owns a 07 with TGV deletes done. He said the 07s TGVs flow better and TGV deletes don't make much of a difference on the 07s at lower power levels. I would double check with a few other people first though.

you need to trick the system into thinking the tumblers are still there.

i use every tumbler delete thread to take the opportunity to show off little ricky's fabrication skills with mine.

background:
the top mount bdl rails we are using to feed the rc1000 injectors are spec'd for a wrx tumbler. the mounting holes for the rail don't match the mounting holes on the tumbler.

there are only two choices; you hack the rail to make it bolt up to an sti tumbler or you take the longer route of adding aluminum filler in order to build up/add the casting to create a totally new location with which to drill and tap holes to the exact location required to mount the rail: essentially turning and sti tumbler into a wrx tumbler. one takes about 20 minutes the other takes 4-8 hours. which one did we pick?

ricky used a tig to add the aluminum to the casting. note that the castings on each end of the tumbler that houses the tumbler generator valve shafts, sensors and stepper motor have been ground off to allow an unobstructed routing for the fuel lines.

pretty exotic, eh?

You remove the butterflies from the rod, and then remove the rod....when the rod is out you need to weld up the holes where the rod used to pass through the runners.

Cut out the seperator and port the housing.

is the rod all the way threw side to side? I ask this wondering how easy it will be the weld.
