Supercharge my STi??

I saw the post in the general section on a supercharged STi.
I wonder if I can use the old Vortech B-Trim off my other car?

Sounds crazy but I have the S/C and its just collecting dust.

Are you planning on adding a supercharger to your STi or replacing the turbo with a supercharger? If you are planning on doing the ladder, why would you want to do that? It would have been cheaper for you to get an RS and add the supercharger. Or even a WRX. Everyone has their reasons why they do things and they did pay for the car so there is nothing we can do about that. I just want to understand why. Is it better than the turbo? I am fairly new turbos being this is my first turbo car. So I am not trying to mock or argue. I would just like information.

Why create a headache?

Turbos are more efficient and reliable than a S/C. Bottom line is you can get more power and tq from a turbo than you will with a S/C plus you would have to major fabrication and computer tuning to get the S/C to work correctly. Don't do it!

I use to be HUGE S/C fan until I found out the limitations. I actually purchased an ATI D1SC kit for my 02 Trans Am. Then I read about the problems. Belt slipping, brackets flex, crank pulley slipping on crank. Since I live in Denver, we have to run smaller pulleys to get the same boost at sea level. This causes more slipping. Some went with cogs but the belt only last 3k miles. Then I learned that you might be able to get 10psi in Denver but you travel up in the mountains (11k-14k feet altitude) your boost drops about half of that where a turbo wouldn't. I sold the kit brand new in the box and ordered a T76 turbo kit instead.

I would like to use both but I dought it is feasable. just throwing this one out there bc you never know.

Yeah it would be interesting to see if this would help any. But not sure if it would be worth the trouble.
