Getting ready to buy the AP... I'm very curious how the OTS map (stage 1) is going to perform in CO (5280 ft. ASL).

If you're concerned about the tune, I think you'll be fine. If anything, you will run rich because of the thinner air.

I agree. You'll be happy with the Cobb stg1 map. I've had it on for a few days now and have been very satisfied with the improved performance and lack of hesitation.

I am just curious, why don't you guys just get a different EMS? Utec, ECUtek, Hydra, or whatever? Cobb seems to make good stuff, but with this many people having issues, why would you still go buy it with other products out there without the issues? Is your tuner pushing the AP because they are dealers for this? If Cobb is saying that is bad, you should be able to return it and get your money back for the product being recalled/defective.

Cobb isnt saying that the AP is bad or has problems. It is the LC and FFS maps that are causing issues. Cobb has issued a statement that said they dont know the long term effects of running these maps and stated that the customer should use them at their own risk.

from what i understand, the product is fine. it was the lack of info floating around on what to do with the 2 extra d/a (dynamic advance) maps. it appears that nobody knows what triggers them and they like to randomly add timing and thats what caused the issues and blown motors. if the 2 extra d/a maps are turned off, its just as safe as any other year.

this is my understanding of it and if im wrong someone feel free to correct me.

I'd imagine the Cobb maps eliminate this?

With the collaboration of the open source guys, and some digging by Trey, we identified the changes that are needed to make DA control as predictable as other years.

Now, weather other tuners care to make the changes, is a different story.

Also, I've always been good in putting the fear of god in customers who are relentless with the FFS/LC software, but I've doubled my ambition to get them to not want to use it needlessly.

Overall, several great strides have been made by those professional tuners who wanted to participate in the conversations we've had on it. I only hope the silent ones who observed the process learn something from it.

sounds like the problem *should* be fixed then. btw, i sent you guys an email regarding my block install. i bet your looking forward to tuning it with the 9.5:1 compression! what did i get myself into? as if the 07's arent enough of a bomb waiting to go off i have to throw a high compression motor into the mix.

So the safe bet for my 07 is to find a protuner who is aware of the changes required to modify the DA? Is there a thread around that i can reference to, or was this an in-house discovery?
Or am i incorrect in thinking this solves the core issue's on 2007's, (in addition to upgrading the injectors & fuel pump)?

Again, all of the above. This is such a multi-faceted issue. Any authorized protuner has access to Cobb's forums, and specifically the Protuner venue. (Redirect). If your tuner of choice doesn't participate there, then they are missing out on a LOT.

Aha, i didnt think to search in the protuner section! Thanks for the clarification!!! I havent done gone with a tuner yet, still hunting, this will definitely help.
