Default ECUTEK'd 05 STI ECU Exchange for Stock 05 STI ECU

Looking for a stock 05 STI ECU to swap with our ECUTEK tuned 05 STI ECU. Its tuned for our 20G, Methanol, etc. So it would need maybe an hour of retune given your current setup (as the tuner could just drop on a new map and tune for your stock turbo, bigger turbo, maf, meth, whatever you may have or may want to do to your car), but would save you the $600-800-XXXX cost of the ECUTEK License fee required to use ECUTEK.

We are looking for $(NAME A PRICE!) obo + a stock 05 STI ECU. We pay the overnight shipping fees from us to you.

If you have an Accessported ECU (05 STI of course) and wanted to trade that, we could work out something like a straight up trade (for those who have an accessport already and are in need of a more custom tune). This would be of course for your married Accessported ECU + all the software, wires, etc that comes in the 2005 STI Accessport Package.

This is a one time deal and could help you save quite a bit of cash off the initial costs of ECUTEK (as you would have to pay for the tuning anyways, this would save you $300-500). Not to mention if you wanted to go further with your car then stage 2 on your accessport, you could now have a custom tunable car that could handle 400whp-howevermanywhpyouwanted.

We did this before with our 04 STI with no problems at all. Thank you and let us know as we need this ASAP.

The '05's can NOT be swapped. The immobilizer on the ECU is hard-coded to the wiring harness in the car. Last I heard there is NO way to use an ecu from one '05 in another. When you buy a new '05 ECU it has no immobilizer "signature" as soon as you fire up a car with it, it's locked to that car. You can use more than one ECU on the same car, but not the same ECU on different cars.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. I could be wrong, they might have a new way of doing this, but as of a month ago, there was no way to do it...

I know it's not as "easy" of a solution, but if you are trying to be able to make adjustments without having to drive to your tuner you can buy and ecutek another one, or AP over your ecutek, but I don't think you can use your ecu in another car. Sorry dude.

Any 05 ECU can be coded to the immobilizer of any other 05 car/key if you have either the dealer software or the EcuTek Flash2004 software.

The main problem with 05 ECU's depending on where you live and the smog laws would be the CVN and CID codings stored in them.

We tried both the Subaru SSM and the Ecutek, wouldn't start... maybe there is something new. Have you done this yourself?

I appreciate it kevin, but due to the new news, no point in putting others through the hassle of making this work. We'll just wipe it with the new Accessport software. Thanks everyone, this can be closed/deleted.

Appreciate the help everyone

Yes I have, based on you having Flash2004 open the application and select synch immobilizer. From there you should be able to follow the on screen prompts and program the keys to the new ECU.

As for the SSM I don't have one but I can get the dealership we work with to give me the procedure and update this post for you if you want.

Robert, You can do this but the problem lays with Smog later on if your state uses the inbuilt CID, CVN checks as they wont match unless the stock rom is flashed back on. Making any ECU work in a car with an immobilizer is easy just use the above to do it the car will work fine (take it from someone that has had to replace ECU's after flash file curruption)
