Default Every wonder why your Max WGDC only reads 90.2%?

This has bugged me for long enough so I spent the day look into why it does this. There is code in the ECU that limits the max WGDC to 90%. I was able to find it today and will be testing it out shortly. Here is an example and some screen shots: It should be noted that the ECU will not take more than 99.5% inputed into this table...

Ok here are the results, and they were quite successful if I might add. The only problem I had was getting it to use enough WGDC since its about 30* outside and my compensation tables kept pulling a ton of WG. The only way I got it to show any results was to park it still and let the IAT temps rise then hit the throttle. Check it out:

I assume they set that to help protect the solenoid from frying.

Personally I run an aftermarket EBCS so I have no worries about frying it. Honestly me and wolf have been arguing this for a good time, and I am happy to pick up the extra 10% WGDC for an extra 1psi at redline. Oh yea an on some 16bit ecu's I have seen 100% WGDC's before.

^ Agreed if you are a DIY guy. I have no worries about frying my GM BCS. I can pick up a new one locally for under $20. So, if it fries, so be it. However, if I can hold more at redline - so be it

Good catch on the WGDC. I guess you are liking IDA Pro

I certainly wasn't saying one shouldn't do it, just stating a general note of caution for anyone that wasn't aware of a potential issue.

So I take it that this "primary wastegate maximum" is not a modifiable parameter using Cobb StreetTuner?

Nope, neither is this... I will be testing it out as soon as I can get my hands on a 3 bar MAP:

I just need to figure out the conversion for these numbers... Any ideas as to whether or not it would follow the same logic as the UTEC?

I wouldn't count on it. It might, but I would be VERY suprised if it did.
