Default you're going to hate me for this thread

Like the title says, this stuff has been beat into the ground, but I still want some fresh opinions.

Currently I have BOTH the K&N Typhoon and a Worx Tuning BOV (set at 25% atmosphere).

Thought they were both good purchases at the time, but now I really am starting to second guess why I spent the money of both of those.

Just ordered AP v. 2 and should be getting it in the next few weeks.

Due to all the problems I have heard, I would love to go back to a stock intake box and stock BPV, but alas I do not have them anymore. So I'm stuck with the Typhoon and Worx BOV.

When the AP comes, what should I do? Should I run the Typhoon with the Cobb intake map and just put the BOV at 0% atmosphere? Should I search in vain for stock replacements to go back to? Should I order another aftermarket part that might function better? Or should I leave both where they are and run a certain map and pray?

Oh currently, I will just be going stage one - stage 2 will be soon. Also a protune is out of the question until march when I can get to a tuner.

Just set the bpv to 100% recirc and it wont hurt anything. Leave the intake as is and After you get the ap get it protuned.

you can't hate me all you want =) but I still want to make sure I am doing what's best for my car =) of course a naked blonde in the passenger seat would help, but besides that, knowing about aftermarket parts would help second best

I am running Stage 2 on my '05 STI with a K&N Typhoon, GFB BOV set at 50/50, and a Turbo XS Turbo back with a high flow cat. I always thought the car ran great......when I got a Pro Tune they only had to tweak the map a little bit.....but the tuner said it was not to lean and wouldn't have hurt anything with that set up. He only got another 4hp/15ft pound of tourque....and the car does run smoother and pull harder.

Ill offer this to you to help calm you.... Dont believe everything you read here. Most of it is nothing but opinion and not based on any possible fact. With that said why are you worried? Said it before and will say it to you again, it is all about tuning. If you want to run a CAI and a BOV, go for it. But..... without EM and a tune you wont get the most of the motor... It is that simple...

oh and a naked blonde will do nothing for your tune, but damn....tune vs naked blonde? Hmm......

So... if your not planning on getting tuned, I would sell those items and go back to stock...

oh i plan on a tune - its just what to do until that happens. I will be getting tuned in march most definitely, but temptation is going to force me to put the ap on when i get it in a few weeks. And then temptation will force to spend more money that I don't really have for tbe so I can be stage 2 =)

Set the BOV at 100% recirc and be done with it. The only intakes I've seen not cause a problem with the Cobb AP are the K&N Typhoon, SPT Intake, and the Cobb intake.
