Agreed. My points have been regarding the gains though - pretty spectacular delta values for just a reflash...

absolutely!

i can't remember seeing any tuned, reflash-only dyno plots for any 04-06 sti's. that's one reason, im not "blown away" like some.

also, this is only one car. we all know how each car varies.

the gears, on the otherhand, are going to make quite a difference in a straight line.

Peleg has an 04 STi protuned stage 1. There's a thread about it...

The Stock torque curve shown in Doug's graph is exactly what I am experiencing. There is a big flat spot in the torque curve between 3k and 3.5k RPM. It lags to about 3.5k or 4k RPM, then takes off like a rocket. Looks like even with the tune there is a small flat spot at 3k RPM (also much shorter).

I need upgrade my ECU somehow and not void my warranty.

AccessPORT (when it comes out, I guess) reflash, and hope your dealer doesn't find it

I'm surprised EcuTek was that quick to get the 07s figured out. It's the one time I'll give EcuTek props

The new Cobb AP2 will save your ORIGINAL Factory stock map for later use when you unmarry. When you unmarry, your Factory map is placed back in the ECU. Unlike Cobb AP1 where it wipes out your ORIGINAL Factory map, then flashes a generic "Factory stock" map when you unmarry.

This feature is the only real benefit that I see in the new AP2. Although it's too late for me, and most others. AP1 should have had some sort of disclosure explaining it does not save your Factory map. Oh well.

Haha, I knew that before I reflashed, I was just told it would be hard to find the small difference between YOUR map and the generic one, so I jumped in

That's cool though.

Got the same thing here... Interesting thing is that if you go out and do some spirited driving, it seems like it switches maps to one without that flat spot.

I do have a question, though. Can someone explain the reason that the HP and Torque fall to less than the factory values at around 5300 RPM? Don't get me wrong, I LOVE seeing the FAT torque curve. Could this be where the stock injectors and fuel pump cannot keep up?
It's a result of shifting the torque curve... it happens.

edit... why did my post appear above Harry's?
