try a hard reset of the ECU and reflash the RT map, i've had this happen to me twice now in the year i've been running my COBB AP. 8psi is the wastegate spring pressure, so basically it's like you aren't running any boost control and the wastegate is controlling the boost pressure. i bet the spool up is a bit slower to huh?

try that before you get pissed pulling the top mount off looking for holes or leaks, most of the time if you have a boost leak you can hear it hiss at the boost pressure it takes to push it open.

I checked that line out last night and didn't find anyhting. My pressure is back up to 16.5 today. I'm looking forward to getting some new fuel in the system since I have a feeling that is the cause.

Thanks again for all the replys!

I'm having the same problem I thought it was the line from the
t to the wg accuator. I put a new line on and a new pill in the line. No change. Theren't suppose to be two restrictor pills in the line from the turbo to the accuator? I checked the hoses they look good to me.

I'm noticing this 8psi limit problem is intermittent. I'm ruling out bad fuel since I've been through 3 tanks now from different locations and still have this problem.

This issue happened to me 2x this weekend. I found that shutting off the car and restarting it can restore my boost. Does that give anyone an idea? I would think any vacuum leak would not be fixed by this. Bad ECU perhaps? Oh, it happens with both Stage1 and stock flashes.

Boost gets cut if your IAM drop below a certain value which could explain your above statement. Keep good gas from shell, cheveron, 76, and etc. and see if that corrects the issue.

I don't think I've ever seen full boost since I owned the car. I thought it was the boost gauge but I did some data loggin for the first time with ecuedit. It's reading 7.98psi. Does it make a difference that I have a IHI VF22 turbo?

So you have always had the VF22 on your STi? If you are only putting out 8psi, you are REALLY missing out on performance!

Yeah I bought the car with it. Imagine how I felt when I found out that there is more. I still don't know that much about the VF 22, still searching. I just want to get full boost out of it right now.

That sounds like a good idea. Now I have to find a place that sells that around here. Right now my car is running fine, so perhaps I'm out of the woods.

We have written a technical document explaining how the factory boost control system works, you can use this document to help diagnose your vehicle.

Take care,
Christian.
