Default How fast does the Defi EGT register/move.

Just wondering if it is slow like the Oil temp gauge.

no the egt reads instantaneous...you give it throttle you see the needle move right away to a higher degree...when you let off it drops right away.

oil temp moves slow because oil takes long to heat up and cool down lol.

^^^^^

Set your cruise on a flat road and the EGT gauge should hold steady. Start coasting (out of gear) and you should see readings drop right away.

Yup....my EGT's run up and down according to the revs.....where did you tap for it? That could be concern.

Sloooow. At idle, for example on startup, it takes 20-30 seconds to catch up. At higher RPM it lags significantly less, but still several seconds at best. Mine is mounted about an inch away from the exhaust port (left front).

I've thought about changing mine out for something else, because with the lag, I just do not see that it is all that useful for anything other than eye candy.

I have not done this yet, but I am considering it. I just wanted to know if it was real time like my boost and oil pressure or slow like oil temp. Thanks for your input.
