How did you deal with the immobilizer when swapping ecu's on the 05?

subaru reprogrammed the codes without wiping anything off the ecu.
however, i'm not sure if it would start up or not right off the bat...i didn't have the crankcase sensor plugged in so the car wouldn't start when i finished the install of everything.
silly me, had it flatbeded to subaru and they took care of it.
they told me they had to reprogram the codes, so i'm guessing it was mandatory.
not sure what they did exactly, they may have just matched my keys chip to the code on the ecu instead of vice versa.

XX tuning sent my ECU to Cobb and they wiped out ECUtek and reflashed AP. Unfortunately I lost my ECUtek license and wasted money. I try not to think about it though. My AP II works perfect and I couldn't be happier with the result.

my friend has the ecutek in his sti and he's constantly cursing it.. constant cel's and always have to go back and get retuned. I'm running the cobb v1 and i've had no problems what so ever... the flexibility of the cobb is by far one of the top reasons to get it.

How long did this process take? I bought a car with ECUtek and want to switch it over to AP, thinking about sending my ECU out to Cobb.

Sorry for bumping an old thread. I have an 04 STI ECU with an ECUTek tune/license on it. I'd like to return it to stock, I don't care about the current tune or the license. Is there anyway to do this without sending the ECU back to the original tuner?

if you don't care, you can have a tuner flash it back to stock settings.
